Ambassador Jacobson is an American lawyer who has been the current United States Ambassador to Canada since October 2, 2009.  He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University Law Center, he spent he spent much of his career working in the Chicago offices of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, a major international law firm.
