Celebrating Arabic Music, Art and Heritage set for Toronto in 2 weeks in the heart of the City at Nathan Phillips Square
Toronto’s 5th Annual Taste of the Middle East Festival will transform Nathan Phillips Square this summer, serving up a delicious sample of the exotic flavours and cultures of the Middle East with celebrity headliners lined up alongside 50 plus local musicians, bands, and dancers.

3 DAYS of Celebrating Arabic Music, Art, and Heritage:
Friday, July 22 from 6 pm to 11 pm
Saturday, July 23 from 12 pm to 11 pm
Sunday, July 24 from 12 pm to 9 pm
Venue Name Nathan Phillips Square
100 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5H 2N1

Inspired by the theme of 1001 Flavours, the Taste of the Middle East Toronto Festival on July 22-24, 2022 will feature a variety of food vendors (including Taste Spirit Lounge/Beer Tent), musical performers, art, dancing, entertainment, and retail/souk vendors.
“It is a beautiful fusion of the delicious food, vibrant dance, and energetic music that the Middle Eastern culture is known for,” says Hamsa Diab Farhat, Founder, and Executive Director, of Taste of the Middle East Toronto Festival. “We want everyone to experience the feeling of hospitality and the inclusiveness that is at the heart of our culture. Come together to celebrate each other, eat good food and dance, and maybe have a drink in our beautifully decorated Spirit Lounge. Our entertainment program is one of the best in our community, people look forward to it. This year we have celebrity artist Super Sako from LA joining us with Fadi King of Drums from Montreal as the headliner for Saturday. We also have a very famous blogger joining us all the way from Lebanon as our special guest, Anthony Rahayel and our community is super excited for this.

On Sunday it is all about celebrating Egypt “Celebrate Egypt” from 12 pm – 5 pm in partnership with The Canadian Egyptian Heritage Association. For the first time ever in the heart of the city, come and watch a full Zaffe Performance of an Egyptian Wedding live with over 15 traditional belly dancers, tables, Mazhar players, bride, and groom.
What differentiates us from other Middle Eastern events is the fusion we create in the festival, especially with the music. We aim to attract the younger generation by choosing artists that mix Arabic music with English music and this, in turn, brings thousands of attendees from other cultures around the city.
We are projecting over 50K attendees over the weekend of July 22-24. People are thirsty for events and festivals after 2 very tough years. We cannot do this without the support of our Federal and Provincial governments, our generous sponsors, and vendors.

The Presenting Sponsor for the second year in a row is Osmows with over 135 locations all over Canada. Other sponsors include Real Estate Broker Hicham Farhat, Sahara Restaurant, Petra Restaurant, Masrawy Egyptian Kitchen, IPG Accounting, Global Logistics Management, HSBC, CIBC, Jenna Food Products, Noujoum Entertainment, Rescounts, Canadian Egyptian Heritage Association, decor sponsor Charm of Orient and our media sponsor BlogTO.
“Toronto is such an incredibly diverse place,” says Farhat. “We are all proud to be Canadian, yet we are still able to celebrate our differences. It is truly a beautiful thing.”
