As the final days of August draw near, concluding the summer season in the GTA, anticipation grows for an exciting event: the largest ever Egyptian festival in North America and Canada. It is set at the heart of Mississauga, Mississauga’s Celebration Square, where the festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 25th and 26th, 2023.
Dubbed “The Discover Egypt Festival,” this remarkable occasion is proudly presented by the Canadian Heritage Association (CEHA). The festival is a hallmark event that guarantees two days of immersive experiences, featuring an array of international and local talents hailing from Egypt, Canada, and the US.
Anticipated to draw a crowd of over 35,000 attendees, “This year’s Festival is assured to transform Celebration Square into a sea of fans chanting and dancing to live music, traditional performances, captivating dances, and the latest hits from renowned Egyptian artists, including Omar Kamal and Marwa Nagy with the amazing Shadi Alfons as MC. These superstars have journeyed all the way from Cairo to share their artistry and connect with fans at the square,” noted Magdy Nashaat, Chairman of CEHA’s Board of Directors.
“No matter where you come from, how old you are, or what kind of food you crave, you’ll find it all and enjoy it all at this year’s Largest Egyptian Festival at the Celebration Square,” remarked Sheref Sabawy, MPP Mississauga-Erin Mills. “This festival is an extension of the fifth Egyptian Heritage Month celebration, which happens every July, after being designated and recognized by the government of Ontario”.
The Egyptian Festival warmly welcomes individuals of all ages, with admission being entirely free, thanks to the generous support of various sponsors. Notably, the event’s Official Sponsor is Masrawy Egyptian Kitchen, followed by OSMOW’S Shawarma & Maplelands, alongside numerous other sponsors and vendors spanning different categories.
