Target to host Canadian beach parties this weekend

As another season quickly (and sadly) comes to an end, Target is helping Canadians deal with the end-of-summer blues with one-day beach party events.
The discount retailer, which will make its Canadian debut next year with 125 stores, is hosting a party at beaches in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta this weekend for what it’s calling “Target Bullseye Beaches.”
At the event, visitors will have the opportunity to play summer-related activities like volleyball and take part in sandcastle competitions. Those looking to take it easy can do so in Target’s shaded lounge or beach shop.
Target is known for its one-day, event based marketing efforts. In February, the chain gave future “guests” (what Target calls its customers) a taste of the discount retailer’s brand promise: expect more, pay less with a pop-up store in downtown Toronto.
The store featured the most recent limited-edition collection from well-known designer Jason Wu, who was on-hand for the event.
