Join Us in Celebrating Ontario This July in Scarborough
FREE Event to Honour Ontario’s 150th Anniversary
Heritage Skills Development Centre (HSDC) in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Live Green Program will
be hosting the “Scarborough Celebrates Ontario 150 Festival” on Saturday July 15th and Sunday July 16th, 2017
at the Albert Campbell Square, inside the Scarborough Civic Centre. Scarborough Celebrates Ontario 150 will
be a fun-filled weekend event that offers the entire family a chance to experience the richness of Canada’s
multiculturalism and heritage through the sharing of food, music, arts, culture, history and our mutual values.
“Scarborough Celebrates Ontario 150” will commemorate Ontario’s 150th anniversary, and we are delighted to
celebrate Canada as one of the best countries to live in and raise families.” said Charity Lebeanya, Executive
Director of the HSDC. “We invite everyone to join us and celebrate this amazing and inclusive community
event, as there is no better place to celebrate the diversity of Ontario than in Scarborough.”
This Festival will include live musical performances from diverse Canadian and multicultural artists, dance
performances, exciting entertainment, international cuisine, healthy food vendor competitions, vendor
exhibitions, kids and youth zone, interactive family activities, meet & greet with celebrities, networking
opportunities, raffle draw, etc. Some of the performing artists and talent includes: Juno Award winning band;
Said the Whale, Destiny Band, Ijo Vudu, Tomi Swick, Black Stars, Jillea, Dance Caribe, Chris Assaad, Cloral,
Carnival Spice, Neema Group, Digging Roots, & many more
