Postmedia Network partners with Workopolis.com
Postmedia Network Inc. and job-board website Workopolis.com are joining forces to provide readers with a new classified job ads channel.
Starting in the fall, Postmedia news websites — the main digital portals for 10 major dailies across the country — will be populated with job postings from Workopolis, the largest career website in Canada.
Currently the digital newspapers are linked to Postmedia’s own Working.com jobs board and the shift to the leading recruitment website represents the company’s pursuit of top-quality content.
“Our strategy is to focus on our strengths, our audience and our brand, and providing our audience with the best-possible content available on the Internet. And in this case we have chosen to partner with the number-one recruitment site in the country,” said Simon Jennings, Postmedia Network’s chief revenue and digital officer. “By putting the two of us together it gives our audience a better pool with better choice and our advertisers a better tool.”
Each month roughly 1.6 million Canadians visit the job site, conducting more than 11 million searches.
The job channel will feed Postmedia news sites with new 30,000 job postings.
Postmedia Network and Workopolis executives said the partnership will increase traffic to both sites and benefit job hunters and employers alike.
“We are excited to be working with the largest and most popular job board to provide the latest opportunities and career-related content to our audiences,” said Postmedia Network president and chief executive Paul Godfrey in a statement. “Bringing together all of our great brands combined with our exceptional reach of more than five million monthly unique visitors will enhance the online experience for our audience and deliver great results for Canada’s employers.”
Workopolis is jointly owned by Torstar Corp and Power Corporation of Canada. Postmedia Network is the parent company of the National Post.
