Postmedia chairman Ronald Osborne dies at 66

Postmedia Network chairman of the board Ronald Osborne passed away suddenly on April 8 at the age of 66. Over his long career, Osborne sat on boards for a number of corporations including Tim Hortons Inc., BCE Inc., Toronto Sun and Air Canada. He also served as president of Maclean Hunter Ltd. and as president and CEO of Ontario Power Generation.

“All of us at Postmedia are saddened by the loss of our trusted advisor and great leader,” said Postmedia president and CEO Paul Godfrey in a press release.

“Ron and I have been not only colleagues in business but friends for three decades. He was, without a doubt, the best corporate director in Canada. He was insightful, visionary and thoughtful and he understood good corporate governance better than anyone I have ever known.”
