New Websites to Launch with Mobile, Social and Zoomers in Mind

2012-09-13

Newly designed and redeveloped websites will be unveiled by ZoomerMedia, with added features tailored for a mature audience.
Audio streams, video libraries and more will be offered through the new websites, and through updated mobile apps for iDevices.
On Monday, September 17, The New Classical 96.3 FM, the commercial all-classical English language radio station, and The New AM 740 – Zoomer Radio, will officially relaunch their new websites with what’s said to be improved speed, content and design.
Zoomers, those 45plus year olds, are in fact using social media, mobile devices and media-rich websites more and more these days, even as most online destinations seem designed by, and for, a younger demographic.
So these new sites, produced in-house by ZoomerMedia’s Interactive Division, have been created for mature audiences, offering more intuitive and faster web pages, CD-quality audio streams, full concert videos, podcasts, and an updated, state-of-the-art iPhone/iPod app for listeners on the go.
To support the relaunch and the “listen anywhere” message, the stations are hosting an online contest from September 17 – October 14 with prizes available for visitors to the new websites.
Additional features include a ‘name that tune’ function, in which classical music can be identified and purchased online; a comprehensive video library of recorded live concerts is available; news, reviews and restaurant suggestions are also featured.
The AM 740 mobile stream will be delivered in a 128k stereo stream, and on-demand programming for both stations will be available as podcasts.
The app also incorporates Apple’s AirPlay to stream the broadcasts directly to a user’s stereo for the best sound and highest fidelity.
