The City of Mississauga has been named the best place to work in Canada by both Forbes and Glassdoor for 2022 as a result of the opinions shared by employees.

The awards ask employees to provide a rating and input on a number of performance areas some of which include working conditions, career opportunities, salary, compensation and benefits, culture and values, diversity and inclusion, and work-life balance.

“These awards confirm the great workplace environment we are continuing to build at the City of Mississauga. This is our third year winning the Forbes award, we’re very proud of our employees and the dedication they show in their work and to the residents of Mississauga,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “We have great leadership and are committed to furthering equity, diversity, inclusion and wellness. Our employees worked through many challenges during the pandemic and these awards confirm that we are continuing to achieve top marks as we deliver the best services possible for our residents.”

The City of Mississauga was the only municipality to make the Glassdoor 2022 list of 25 and ranked within the top half of the Forbes 2022 list.

“The work we have been doing to make the City of Mississauga a respectful, inclusive and welcoming workplace are reflected by these two awards,” said Paul Mitcham, City Manager, and Chief Administrative Officer. “There is still work to be done and we continue to make progress to positively shape our organization for the future.
