Former Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion Honored As Legend At state funeral

A state funeral has been held for Hazel McCallion on what would have been her 102nd birthday. The funeral took take place at Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga on Valentine’s Day.

Hazel McCallion is a Canadian politician and former mayor of Mississauga, Ontario. She was born on February 14, 1921, and served as mayor from 1978 to 2014. She died on January 29th at 101 years old.

During her 36-year tenure, McCallion transformed Mississauga into one of the largest and most economically prosperous cities in Canada.

McCallion was known for her strong leadership style and her commitment to serving the residents of Mississauga.
