Ontario Premier, Doug Ford, on Sunday, sent greetings to the Orthodox Christian community in Ontario, who are celebrating Easter.
“Today, Orthodox Christians in Ontario and around the world will be celebrating Easter, the holiest day of the year,” he said in his message.
“For many, Easter represents hope and renewal. It’s a special time for families and communities to come together for prayers and to reflect upon the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Many will also celebrate by colouring eggs and sharing a special meal to honour the significance of the Christian sacrifice. On behalf of my family, I wish everyone in the Orthodox Christian community the happiest of Easters!”
