Egypt to allow citizens of 74 countries to obtain electronic tourist visa
As part of state efforts to encourage greater tourist movement to the country, Egypt now allows passport holders from 74 countries to obtain a visa to the country electronically.
The initiative will encourage many people from different nationalities to visit Egypt, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ghada Shalaby, said in a statement.
Egypt is facilitating the procedures for obtaining electronic tourist visas, by adding 28 new nationalities to the 46 nationalities covered by the system.
Ghada Shalaby indicated that the modernisation of this system came in conjunction with the first anniversary of Egypt resuming the incoming tourism movement.
She emphasized that the sector collapsed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, although she was optimistic about the recovery.
Shalaby added that these measures are expected to have a positive impact in increasing the incoming tourist movement to Egypt. She noted that tourists can obtain an electronic visa through the following link:
