Digifest is Toronto’s international festival celebrating innovation and digital creativity. From October 18-20, 2012, we will be bringing together some of the world’s best and brightest to showcase next generation digital art, science & design. Established and emerging designers, technologists and artists will come together during Digifest for presentations, incredible demos, interactive exhibitions and parties.

Program

Digifest 2012 will feature a wide range of content for audiences of all ages interested in digital art, innovation and culture. From keynote speaker presentations and interactive workshops to hands-on demos of the latest and greatest in digital media, there will be something for everyone at Digifest 2012.

Presentations

At Digifest you will see a variety of both local and international presenters discussing the future of digital media along with the most recent innovations. Speakers will question technology through the lenses of Feel, Hack and Play;

  • What emotions does technology bring us?
  • How do new innovations connect with our many senses?
  • How can we adapt technology to make it work more effectively for us?
  • How do we interact and play with changing technology?

exhibits

In addition to insightful presentations, the three days of Digifest programming will feature interactive and hands-on exhibits and demo stations featuring the latest innovations in digital technology from both our speakers and the digital community. On Saturday, October 20th the exhibit floor opens to the public all day, creating a space for industry and family to come together and have fun.

workshops

Saturday will feature hands-on workshops for everyone, including Hack Jam where kids will learn how much is possible when you become a creator – and not just a consumer – of technology and the web. Expand your mind with a variety of theoretical and practical digital design discussions.

Meet the Media Guru

Meet the Media Guru (MtMG), one of Digifest’s a series of inspiring presentations dedicated to digital culture and innovation created and directed in Italy by Maria Grazia Mattei. In addition to forming discussions around the most current thinking in new media, MtMG also creates events that attract and engage audiences with issues often dealt only in technical terms and professional.
The choice of themes discussed, the speakers involved and the scenography are designed to create immersive environments that highlight creativity, innovation and audience participation. The first edition of Digifest and Meet the Media Guru’s partnership in 2011 featured artists Paolo Rosa (Studio Azzurro) and Maurice Benayoun; Tom Igoe, co-founder of Arduino and Rebecca Allen, an expert in virtual reality.
