Arab Media Forum 2013 Begins Receiving Applications from UAE Students for ‘Youth Take the Stage’ Competition

Dubai-UAE: 10 November, 2012– Dubai Press Club has begun receiving applications from university students in the UAE for ‘Youth Take the Stage’ competition that aims to promote the active participation of students in organising the 12th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF 2013). The initiative seeks to hone the skills of volunteers and offer them practical experience.
Registration to the competition was opened on the website www.arabmediaforum.aeon 5 November and will run until 5 December. The portal provides comprehensive information on the mechanisms and criteria of participation.
Dubai Press Club has lined up a series of meetings for faculty and students to brief them on the process of application and mobilise the youth’s active participation in the contest. During the meetings, students will also be informed about the voluntary opportunities available within the project management department ofAMF 2013. In its earlier editions, the forum has drawn the voluntary participation of over 60 UAE nationals.
In addition to written proposals articulating their intent and area of expertise, students are required to provide substantiating proof points such as videos, photos and presentations. The winners will be entitled to speak at the Arab Media Forum 2013 and appear in press interviews. They will also be honoured with certificates during the event.
Themed‘Arab Media: exposure and transition’, Arab Media Forum 2012 was held from 8 -9 May this year. It witnessed the participation of more than 3,800 media persons from across the world including key decision makers, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators. The Arab Journalism Awards was attended by more than 1,200 media persons. More than 40, 0000 people watched the event’sactivities via streaming on the internet.
