Ontario Premier, Doug Ford, on Friday congratulated the Egyptian community on Egyptian Heritage Month, hailing their great contributions to the province’s economic and cultural success.
“Friends, I want to wish a happy Egyptian Heritage Month to everyone celebrating,” Ford said in a video message.
“Ontario is proud to be home to a strong Egyptian community that plays an important role in our province’s economic and cultural success. That’s why in 2019, and thanks to my friend, and the first-ever Egyptian parliamentarian in Canada Sheref Sabawy, our government passed bill 106 to officially recognize July as the Egyptian Heritage Month, and thank you Sheref,” he added.
The premier underlined that the month is an opportunity to learn and celebrate the rich Egyptian culture and heritage and recognize many contributions that Egyptians made to strengthen the province.
The Canadian Egyptian Heritage Association in Canada had said that celebrations for the Egyptian civilization and heritage month include broadcasting events and exclusive meetings for symbols of art, literature and culture in Egypt on Saturday and Sunday of every week throughout July in addition to inviting all Egyptian NGOs in Canada to participate.
